Job Responsibilities: The position responsible for strategic and tactical activities related to the sourcing and procurement of raw materials to support company’s global manufacturing operations.
  • Manage and improve the demand management process globally across business segments including Healthcare & Packaging, Advanced Fibers, Composites, and Additives.
  • Generate initial forecast based on appropriate statistical methods for 18 month periods.
  • Lead Demand Planning meetings in the creation of a consensus based unconstrained sales volume plan.
  • Prepare and provide demand related data as required to support the SIOP process.
  • Facilitate Demand Planning SIOP meeting and assist in pre-SIOP sessions.
  • Ensure all participants contribute to the SIOP process within the agreed upon timing of the calendar of events.
  • Capture risks and opportunities to forecast, publish notes and recommendations.
  • Work closely with the business, sales, supply chain, operations and distribution personnel to improve overall supply chain from improved demand signals.
  • Improve the effectiveness of Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) based on demand information.
  • Monitor mid-cycle demand variances and trends at Product Group, Customer and SKU levels and provide recommendations.
  • Document demand drivers and assignable causes to demand changes each period.
  • Provide statement of demand to support STRAP, AOP, Financial, SIOP and Master Scheduling business processes.
  • Document SIOP policy and update as appropriate with Global Supply Chain Leader and VP/GM approval.
  • Drive improvements to Demand Planning Process, tools and meetings.
  • Develop working knowledge of forecasting system and train back-up/new users.
  • Maintain forecasting related master data (i.e. distribution channels, sales representatives, regions).
  • Drive Improvements to forecast error using Six Sigma methodology.
  • Develop working knowledge of forecasting system and train back-up/new users.
  • Measure and publish forecast error performance, including forecast error, MAD, MAPE and bias performance.
  • Recalibrate forecast models periodically by analyzing predictions vs. actual sales patterns and making appropriate model revisions at the SKU level.
  • Analysis should include Customer, Product and Geographical Perspectives. Create confidence intervals around volume forecasts based on forecast accuracy and use data to drive improvement actions.
  • Lead Demand Planning module implementation as part of APO implementation.

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related degree required.
· MBA/MS not required but major plus.
· APICS / ISM certifications preferred.
· 6 + years experience working in manufacturing, supply chain, finance or logistics operations required.
· Experience using Advanced Planning and Scheduling tools (SAP APO, i2, JDA/Manugistics, etc.). SAP experience preferred.
· Experience and comfort using ERP and reporting systems. Experience and comfort using all MS Office applications.
· Diverse operations, distribution resource planning and logistics experience.
· Chemicals industry experience preferred.
· Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
· Experience with managing direct reports.
