USC's School of Dentistry, Faculty Practice is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant II to join its team. The Registered Dental Assistant II provides support to the Faculty Practice during surgical and non surgical periodontal procedures by chairside assisting, entering treatment into the practice management software system, monitoring patient flow in the clinic and operating suite, determines patient care needs and directs accordingly, and other clinic duties. Job Accountabilities: Provides comprehensive skilled chairside assisting services during treatment procedures to faculty, doctoral dental students and post-doctoral students in a teaching clinic. Prepares treatment area for patients. Prepares and mixes materials. Preps patient. Assists with procedures. Monitors patient for complications. Sets up clinic and keeps disposable materials and medicaments in adequate supply for daily operation. Maintains a clean and orderly clinic at all times. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Exposes and processes patient x-rays. Assists students in collecting patient history, charting and treatment planning. May assist with the maintenance of an ongoing patient recall system. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Specialized/technical training

Minimum Experience:
3 years

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Three years chairside experience directly related to practice specialization. Valid CDA and California x-ray License. Knowledge of computers.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education:
Strongly prefer CA OA permit coronal polishing and pit and fissure certificate.

Preferred Experience:
Orthodontic experience is preferred.

Preferred Field of Expertise:
Valid RDA and bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
