To take lead and give direction to courtesy booth operators. Perform same duties as operators. Monitor checkout stations to keep cash levels low. Provide customers with the best possible service following Randalls / Tom Thumb policies and guidelines. Able to answer questions and handle problems as they occur for both customers and employees. Assist customers by answering questions - cashing checks - receiving utility payments - selling hunting and fishing licenses and providing other related services. Receive customer complaints. Attempt to resolve any customer problem. Promote good customer relations. Receive all store incoming calls. Answer callers questions - route calls or take messages. Must be able to use stores intercom system. Issue cash to checkout stations and collect excess cash. Audit cash register tapes - cash - checks - food stamps - coupons - etc. and prepare all bank deposits. Prepare operating reports; sales - coupon logs - daily cash activity - credit card activity - etc. Assist store management in training courtesy booth operators in store policies; security - sales and record keeping procedures; and job duties. Verify employee time records and prepare payroll. Handout paychecks. Thorough knowledge of Courtesy Booth operation. Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Know opening and closing department procedures. Working knowledge of companys policies and procedures as outlined in the Randalls / Tom Thumb Employee Handbook and Orientation Handbook. Minimum six months experience in general courtesy booth operation. High school degree or equivalent required. Successful completion on Randalls / Tom Thumb Orientation Program. Must be able to perform arithmetic problems quickly and accurately. Working in climate controlled temperatures. Working in a very busy environment. Must be able to handle high levels of stress. Independent mobility within the department. Standing and walking for 8 to 10 hours. Occasional crouching and stooping to reach low storage areas. Manual dexterity sufficient for reaching and handling Courtesy Booth materials. Finger dexterity sufficient to handle cash register and calculator keys - fingering cash - coupons and food stamps. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers. Visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and monitor their departments operations. Strength to lift - push - or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule and perform other duties as required. Supervisory background helpful. Professional appearance and above average communication skills. Promote cooperation among front-end personnel.
