Under general supervision of the department leadership. Performs general secretarial duties for assigned department to include routine typing and correspondences, serving as a receptionist; screening visitors and calls, maintaining confidential files, distributing mail and scheduling meetings. Attends and records meeting minutes as necessary. Organizes workload to meet established priorities; routine bookkeeping and billing functions and special functions as assigned. Duties may require thorough knowledge of supervisor's areas of responsibility.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Approximately three to six months on-the-job experience necessary in order to gain understanding of departmental policies and procedures, and effectively maintain alphabetic and/or numeric filing systems, organize work load, screen visitors and callers and so forth. Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with callers and visitors and provide information requiring ordinary courtesy and tact.
