Dependency Hearing Office Clerk assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Dependency Hearing Office, including processing and case tracking of Court Orders in the Common Pleas Case Management System. Clerk will also perform supportive functions in the Child Protection and Permanency Department and Custody Department. Additional responsibilities will include:

*Transcribing/typing recommendations from the Hearing Officer into various Court Orders on the computer system; updating various computer screens with case information to ensure accuracy of Court Orders entered by the Hearing Officer.

*Documenting and processing court rulings as ordered, including manually drafting, amending and modifying Court Orders.

*Scheduling, rescheduling and/or canceling hearings, motions and reviews.

*Assisting Hearing Officer in courtrooms with copying, handing out recommendations and making telephone calls to attorneys or clients as needed.

*Responding to inquiries from court personnel, attorneys and others concerning procedures, schedules and specific cases.

*Processing and case tracking of dependency Court Orders.

*Providing coverage for ECA, Restraining Orders and Directing Attendance at a Shelter Hearing requests by the agency.

*Screening Pro-se motions for CYF involvement.

*Performing other clerical duties as needed or required including back up assignments for other clerical positions in the Child Protection and Permanency Department and Custody Department.

Associates degree or additional business school training, including computer technology, preferred or High School Diploma /equivalent, plus a minimum of 3 years related experience in an office/clerical setting with court processing experience preferred. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced office and deal with stress associated with a confidential court environment, as well as good typing and computer skills are important. Must also be able to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner to provide information and assistance regarding cases and procedures to court officials, court employees, attorneys and law enforcement representatives.
