Delivers and executes civil process documents, maintains records and files of executions received. Seizes property under court orders and holds auction on levied property. Enforces local, state, and federal laws as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responds to inquiries and serves as liaison to other agencies and the public. Works and coordinates with other officers on the service and execution of civil process documents and arrest warrants. Contacts and coordinates with attorneys, plaintiffs, applicants and victims on the service of civil process documents. Serves arrest warrants and transports prisoners to jail.
By state statute, requires a High School diploma or equivalency certificate with no felony convictions. Must be at least 21 years of age or at least 18 years of age with 60 or more hours of accredited college credits or 2 years of military service with an honorable discharge. Requires basic certification as a law enforcement officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.

TCLEOSE Certification Required
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Criminal Justice System
- Law enforcement process and arrest practices.
- Communicates effectively.
- Operates a gun.

- Executes warrants.
Constant standing, handling, use of vision and depth perception. Frequent reaching, forceful gripping and use of fine dexterity. Occasional sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling/crouching, bending/squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling and talking. Exposure to excessive heat and cold (outdoor conditions). Job may involve danger due to contact with criminal and suspects.
