A. Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, consultative or supervisory experience in a mental health program including two (2) years of satisfactory supervisory experience and either:

1. Two (2) years of experience in a comprehensive quality management program.

OR

2. Three (3) years of combined experience in at least three (3) of the following quality management component areas: program evaluation, utilization review, standards compliance, discipline standards, quality improvement methodology, professional growth and development.

AND

B. Education

A Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital/health administration, or other administrative area specifically related to health care, sociology, statistics, quantitative research; or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada. Current registration or licensure required where applicable.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.

DUTIES:
Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the other facility cabinet level staff, the Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center – Quality Management participates in developing, implementing, interpreting and evaluating facility goals and policies to support quality management through providing quality care and clinical treatment by focusing on such areas as outcome measurements, treatment plans, and cultural and linguistic competence standards. The incumbent will oversee Risk Management, program evaluation, utilization review, medical records, professional growth and development and all pre- accreditation review processes and discipline standards.
