The Tulsa office of Dewberry Architects is recruiting for a Registered Architect with approximately15 years of experience and at least 5-10 years leading design for all project types. Experience in Healthcare Architecture and Higher Education Architecture is a plus. Looking for someone that is willing to invest in our design talent to mentor through a collaborative style of work. Understanding when to delegate and how to give profitable feedback to gain the best design outcome. This person will work closely with the Office Director and the Dewberry Architecture Design Director to assure design excellence that maximizes opportunities and aesthetics with sensitivity to client's needs. Good presentation skills are necessary to convey ideas to clients and staff.
This person must be community minded and invested in building relationships to foster and promote the firm. Must be able to work quickly to provide multiple ideas on their own or with a group of others within the office. The ideal candidate listens to the client and reacts with a suitable design option that reflects their understanding of the client's needs. This position will be the design lead for this office.
Work with in-house teams to develop and implement project design goals, efforts and processes.
Assure that clients are served with quality projects.
Coordinate design reviews on project’s presentation criteria.
Participate in specific project marketing efforts.
Participate in creating the design task plan and design schedule for projects and marketing.
Participate in project profitability of the project.
Responsible for establishing a design that can be constructed within Owner’s established budget.
Participate in work-share/team assignment efforts in the design phase.
Participate in recruiting/hiring/mentoring efforts of architectural personnel.
Participate in professional community promoting firm’s vision.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited architectural curriculum.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing all types of health-care/medical facilities and/or higher education buildings.
Eligible to obtain a license in Oklahoma.
Understanding of all disciplines within the firm.
Portfolio of award winning work recognized by national, state or local AIA programs, journals or other recognized design awards programs.
Proficient in design and presentation software programs.
LEED AP preferred.
