Booyah is looking for a s easoned Design Director to develop/drive the creative vision for a suite of mobile games and build a top-notch design organization. Reporting to the Studio General Manager, the Design Director will have direct responsibility for game designs as well as developing/mentoring a talented team of game, feature & system designers . The Design Director will contribute heavily to product strategy , developing new game concepts and leading design execution on multiple games.


  • Own the design vision for Booyah’s products & ensure/maintain the highest levels of innovation, quality and creative execution tightly aligned with the company’s strategic & commercial objectives
  • Lead the design organization and w ork closely with Production & Product Management teams to create compelling, innovative & accessible game designs including written design documentation, specifications, wireframes & mock-ups; create clean, scalable & balanced systems and economies; and seamless user experiences
  • Work closely with User Experience & Analytics teams to design & optimize user flows, core loops, game balancing and pacing to achieve engagement, retention & monetization targets
  • M entor, manage & develop a team of top-notch game , system s and interface designers ; attract & hire top-tier creative talent and foster a culture of innovation and design excellence
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional studio leadership to optimize development processes to enhance game quality, process efficiency & studio productivity
  • Work collaboratively throughout the organization to ideate new game concepts / mechanics and create designs for the Greenlight pipeline
  • Serve as an in-house expert on game design, current with game design trends, market development patterns and customer needs

  • Passion for games & proven track-record designing top-performing video games, preferably in the mobile &/ or social space
  • A deep understanding of freemium game design fundamentals (systems, mechanics, economy design, user-experience), processes (iterative design) & best practices (leadership & process management)
  • A minimum of 6 years game design experience with at least 3 years in a Senior Design role at a top interactive company
  • Strong leadership skills and at least 2 years direct management experience with established track-record developing /mentoring high-achieving creative talent
  • Strong analytical aptitude & demonstrated capabilities working with cross-functionally to translate commercial imperatives into fun, innovate & compelling game designs
  • Ability to adapt quickly and context switch in a fast-paced creative environment , previous start-up experience highly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
