Radio transceiver EMECH Design Engineer participating in development of cellular base station transmitters and receivers.
Main Responsibility Area
Provide detailed mechanical designs in one or more of the following areas: Design and Verification of Metal Castings, Plastic Moldings, Gaskets, Connectors, etc. Will be required to perform CAD modeling of the mechanical parts and create the required information to support the suppliers to build the parts. Should have design experience with EMI containment. Candidate will be required to perform thermal modeling, structural simulations and lab testing.
Candidate is expected to perform mechanical stack-up analysis. Candidate is expected to have a hands on design verification approach by testing own ideas and design in the lab. Will also be required to understand full unit design and troubleshoot complex problems. Candidate must have the ability to define hardware requirements of own design based on higher level specifications. Candidate will be required to work in close cooperation with suppliers for related product development. Candidate will be required to work with suppliers during the design phase by providing required information, support the tooling development & verification, suggesting improvement to product and tool for better manufacturability. Candidate will be required to support the suppliers during the design and ramp-up phase via factory visits to multiple global facilities. Daily tasks will include CAD design, simulation, prototyping, and testing. Candidate must also be adept in technical writing and documentation tasks. Candidate will also be required to support related project design activities by participating in design reviews and technical information exchange sessions.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with experience in electronics packaging a plus
- Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical design with emphasis on EMI containment, heat transfer, cooling techniques & environmental protection.
- Experience with CAD tools preferably Pro/E Wildfire 4
- Experience with thermal modeling simulation tools preferably Icepak or Flotherm

Some International travelling will be required.
