Speck°s line of products can be found at Apple retail stores, AT"T, Verizon, Target, Best Buy and of course on We are looking for a clever, innovative, and pioneer CMF Design Manager to help lead a group of designers (3-5) and inspire new design concepts within our product development team. You will be responsible for a high volume, fast-paced, and ever-changing portfolio of designs that range from mobile phone carriers to custom projects. You will bring a sense of optimism to this position and cultivate an energetic and harmonious team dynamic.

What you ’ll do: Color Design Execution finalizes product details and proactively follows through on execution of color on each product. Actively seeks expert input from color design and category organizations to develop appropriate solutions. Develops line art, color design server, GPIN, PDM, merchandising line, cutting samples and working with material consultant to coordinate materials for products. Product Planning – Plans product details.

Collaborates with design, product marketing and development/material consultant to focus color solutions for market success. Develops appropriate solutions with regard to quality, cost/value, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising solutions for market success. Color Solutions – Creates and executes innovative, retailable color solutions for category or gender-specific line. Creates seasonal category-specific direction of color, materials and graphics that reflect design philosophy, product performance, and appeal to targeted consumers.

Understands color, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence and impact category and applies knowledge as appropriate. Knows the consumer and their culture. Understands consumer and brand positioning needs. Knows and studies competitor products, consumer retail habits, color and market trends.

Applies insights from consumer perspective into color solutions. Supervise a design team, ensuring that individual designer output is produced at the speed, quality and expectation of the organization, and that fluctuating workload levels are monitored and adjusted as needed. Foster a clever, optimistic, unpredictable, and inspired atmosphere by modeling exceptional interpersonal skills with colleagues and providing guidance to designers Work in partnership with the Director of Design and other Design Managers to establish pioneer design standards and concepts. What you need to have: Bachelor ’s degree in industrial design or related field 8+ years of relevant design experience in a progressive or fast-paced environment Exceptional leadership and communication Mastery of leading graphic and design programs, production processes, and basic engineering principles Successful track record of working in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment Speck Products does not accept agency resumes.
