As a Design Technician, you will have the opportunity to prepare 2D/3D drawings, assist with and release engineering drawings, assist engineers in troubleshooting designs, teach others in the use of design tools and systems, and maintain engineering release and change documentation.
You will learn through challenging on-the-job experience while staying abreast of technology changes.
You will also be engaged in team assignments that start forming your professional network.
In this role, you will deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar’s products, technologies, processes, services and systems, which you will use to:
Prepare 2D/3D drawings;
Ensure engineering release and change documentation conforms to establish engineering practices; and
Identify, create, develop or manage regulation and standard management or technical data.
Technical associates degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent work experience;
Experience with mechanical design and detailing;
Knowledge and application of computer
A high degree of mechanical aptitude along with a hands on approach; and
Strong communication, initiative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
