The Desktop Analyst is responsible for maintaining the standardization of corporate desktops internally, and for clients. The Analyst creates the images for a consistent desktop configuration of user applications. He/she answers and resolves second and third level Remedy ticket escalations from the PC Support Analysts. The Deployment Group receives requests from the business units for new applications and the Analyst will address all of these requests with ownership of the full project life cycle. The Desktop Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a Universal Workstation standard.
Build application packages for rollouts.
Use application-packaging tools to create desktop images and application packages.
Provide a methodology for automated and unattended delivery of applications.
Remotely deploy new applications, updates, patches, and version releases to the end user, utilizing packaging and distribution tools.
Develop scripts using programming languages to automate the installation of software.
Create virtual applications and desktops for installations.
Distribute, maintain, and provide support for the anti-virus solution. Addressing all anti-virus related helpdesk tickets, change requests, work orders, and new rollouts.
Carryout project based initiatives, guiding the full life cycle with respect to application deployment.
Attend meetings and gather business requirements.
Assess the project scope, level of effort, technical requirements, and vendors.
Fulfill the request of the business unit with a customized package.
Review vendor information and specifications to ensure the hardware can efficiently handle the vendor software.
Test software in an isolated environment
Test software in production environment
Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support 24x7 on a rotating basis. Work with help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them.
Provide exclusive support on all desktop, audio-visual, and video conferencing issues to the Office of the President.
Provide support for the field PC Technicians on complex installation issues.
Work with vendors and application teams to identify any pre-requisites required for new development on the deployed applications or on new applications. Ensure the desktop is equipped to run the application based on the vendor specifications.
Emerging Health is a professional services organization with a matrix reporting structure. Associate’s roles may differ depending on the project, however, their position and title remains the same.
Windows Operating System - XP, Windows 7
Windows SCCM experience a plus
Application Packaging Tools
License management experience helpful but not required
Centralized Deployment Tools
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
