We are looking for a an entry/junior-level Helpdesk/Desktop tech to provide
front-line support for a staff of roughly100.
You have an easy-going happy demeanor coupled with good communication skills and
a sense of humor. You genuinely enjoy interacting with people and helping them
with their technology needs.
You are an astute problem solver by nature, and you apply to those problems a
solid end-user IT knowledge base that includes:
• A thorough knowledge of the Windows and OSX operating systems
• TCP/IP networking on Ethernet and WiFi
• PC hardware
• Commonly used applications (MS Office, web browsers, email/calendar
clients (notably Outlook in an Exchange environment), IM clients,
While you will be able to lean on and learn from some very capable sysadmins,
you will ideally have experience with some of the below:
• Basic administration of Active Directory/Group Policy and Exchange
• Centralized workstation management tools (e.g. KACE, Tivoli/Bigfix, SCCM,
• General security concepts (certificates, encryption, VPN. . .)
• End user database connectivity configuration (JDBC, ODBC...)
• Video conferencing
As a senior member of the help desk team you will provide mentoring and guidance
to others in the team. And you own projects that are user-centric (for example
the deployment of a video conferencing system or desktop management
