Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Strategic Resources this position is responsible to provide highly skilled and quality technical support of end user computer systems., ranging from moderate to complex environments and over a wide geographical area.

Nature and Scope:

This position diagnoses hardware, operating system, and software problems, consults with users to determine and recommend functional hardware and software solutions, plans for short and long range computer requirements, and implements, modifies, and tests new or replacement hardware, operating systems, and software programs.

Performs job functions under general supervision. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment.

Decisions that must be referred to the supervisor include hardware and software acquisitions, personnel management, policy deviations, financial matters and changes that could adversely impact user functionality and or productivity. Additional responsibilities may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Equipment : Standard office equipment – Basic skill/ability in functions and operation.

Copy and fax machines.

Equipment with involved operational procedures – Advanced skill/ability

in functions and operation. Computers, printers, scanners and other

peripherals.

Supervision : Not responsible for this activity.

Decision Making : Assignments are received in the form of results expected, but there is

freedom to decide on the procedures to follow.

Duties are varied in nature, requiring independent action and judgment. Unusual cases or questionable matters are referred to the supervisor.

Problem solving skills used to diagnose and resolve problems without causing

prolonged or continuous loss of computer functions or performance.

Budget : Organize facts and figures used to develop a budget.

Confidential Data : Data that is of major importance and the disclosure of which would be harmful

to the Company’s image and/or reputation in the community.

Communication : Requires skills in writing procedures, general memoranda, letters and/or

routine reports as well as oral skills in explaining terms and methods.

Requires interpersonal communication skills including routine exchange of

information via face-to-face contact or telephone.

Teamwork/Projects : Extensive ongoing coordination, communication, and/or team problem

solving between departments of functional areas for work production

or service quality.

Leads a part of a project (e.g., directs a sub team or evaluation of a

Typically works on multiple (more than three) projects at one time.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Requires Associate of Arts degree or equivalent in basic electronics or computer science. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Experience:

Minimum two years experience in the field. Applicants with experience in a healthcare setting will be given preference.

License(s):

None.

Certification(s):

A+ Hardware and Operating System Certification preferred.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
