The Operations Account Manager will be part of the Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) group. The purpose of SCS is to provide End to End logistics services and supply chain visibility for international customers. This position is a hybrid role of operations and business development requiring a broad understanding of logistics and supply chain activities. The Operations Account Manager will monitor operational progress and manage customer relations.
Act as customer's first point of contact regarding questions about the account and ensuring customer objectives and expectations are met.
Liaise between origin control tower and customer, ensure data integrity and KPIs are generated accurately and timely, drive process improvement plans to ensure customer quality standards are met.
Effectively identify business rules and requirements, and capture standard operating procedures (SOP's)
Develop and ensure necessary metrics/KPI's are maintained and sustained for all operational aspects of the business.
Ensure the transfer of best practices throughout the area of responsibility.
Monitor 3PL performance and drive continuous improvement - outsourced freight management (air, ocean, consolidation, ground) and value added services ( e.g. container consolidation, customs, packaging, etc)
Prepare for and participate in quarterly regional QBRs with SCS customers handled at CT
Develop, implement and monitor improvement programs in cost reduction, revenue growth, quality improvement, safety and best practices across established and new contracts.
Responsible for operational progress and customer/employee relations.
Complete daily and weekly reporting of operational/quality requirements.
Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
Create and implement cost savings through LEAN initiatives.
Ensure safe and healthy workplace and address compliance issues, implement and maintain safety and compliance procedures.
Responsible for administrative activities and other duties as required
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Transportation is preferred.
Two to three years of experience in Transportation/Logistics is preferred.
Languages and Communication Skills
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Must have very good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with customers and employees.
