Manage all proprietary application infrastructures (includes webapps, web servers and relationships with data sets)
Manage and create scripts & write code for applications and/or reports as needed by the business teams. This might also include developing add on components to off the shelf products.
Manage development infrastructure. This includes selecting appropriate development tools,managing the code repository, ensuring best practices for application development and documentation are both maintained properly and kept current.
Assess of the shelf financial applications help business teams determine valuable comparisons.
Work closely with developers and data teams internally and externally to ensure applications are using data correctly and efficiently.
Assist other teams with understanding expectations with respect to resource growth needs and expected server and network resource requirements.
Any additional time available can assist with tasks to automate trading services.
5 years experience working on developing applications in a financial company.
Experience managing Web Servers and Frameworks (Apache, Tomcat, Wiki).
Exposure to data subscriptions/services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, OMS Systems as well as trading and hedge fund data. This includes understanding what financial data vendors require in terms of following best practices and conditions for using APIs for their data services.
Experience with MSSQL and MySQL.
Experience writing scripts to automate data imports, transforms and cleaning.
Experience generating derived data either to feed or create reporting systems or generate new reports in different formats to meet business team’s requests.
Ability to communicate directly with the business teams effectively and in a time sensitive environment
