Border States has a terrific opportunity for an individual looking for employment in Fargo, North Dakota.


Design, develop and implement custom solutions using Border States’ business applications.

Work with and advise system analysts to understand requirements, resolve production issues, provide technical design and implement technical solutions for projects defined by Border States.

Document solutions and report project request status.

Collaborate with team members to research, implement new and currently unused solutions to enhance the value of the business systems.

Maintain competency in technology related to the position with a willingness and ability to share knowledge and experience.


Minimum of a two-year computer programming or related degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.

Possess an understanding of object oriented programming concepts.

Experience working with SQL and relational databases.

Familiarity with a programming language such as Java, C#, VB, ABAP or other equivalent language is required. HTML, JSP, SAPScript, JavaScript, VBScript, and GuiXT Script experience is beneficial, but not required.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, take ownership of projects and evaluate best practices and alternatives.

Strong problem solving and analytical skills along with ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines.

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are preferred with the ability to effectively plan and organize.

Ability to read, write and speak in English preferred.

Prefer strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint), Internet, email and SAP enterprise resource planning software.

Excellent customer service skills include being courteous, accurate, responsive and competent.
