The Development Assistant will coordinate all of the
logistical details for a multi-million dollar campaign, including processing of
pledges and keeping track of contributions, inputting lists and data for
numerous fundraising events, and providing support for the fundraising
professionals. The candidate must be exceptionally organized and
proficient in computer skills as well as possess good people skills.
Possible performance measures:
- Prepare and write
solicitation letters to donors, complete mail merges, maintain donor records,
process pledges, and prepare statements.
- Process donations and
prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
- Update and correct
database records and spreadsheets.
- Conduct research on
prospective sources of revenue, including major gift prospects, foundations,
and dinner honorees.
- Coordinate productions
and mailing of spring and year-end appeal letters.
- Maintain guest lists,
gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for

by the Director of Development.
Qualifications and Skill Set:
- Number of donations
processed and acknowledged within each week.
- Success in maintaining
accuracy of database records.
- Accuracy of fundraising
- Success in coordinating
the production of mail appeals.
- Success in maintaining
donor hard copy files.
- Bachelor's degree in a
- A minimum of two years'
experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit
- Proficiency in Microsoft
Word and Excel
- Experience using
Raiser's Edge preferred

accuracy in work is essential
