The Development Assistant coordinates selected special events and performs clerical and secretarial tasks such as data entry and report preparation in support of organization’s Development Department.
Duties: Performs administrative and general office duties in the Development Department. Manages and prepares reports from the donor and prospect data base. Coordinates department-related Treasures in Clay (TIC) events. Serves as Staff Coordinator for the TIC Team. Coordinates other department events and special projects.
Desired Skills: Basic interpersonal skills (verbal and listening) to provide excellent customer/donor service (including appropriate handling of sensitive or confidential information) and positive team work. Ability (visually and otherwise) to accurately proof and perform editing (punctuation, grammar, spelling) and maintain records and filing systems at a level normally acquired through the completion of business school. Ability to create semi-complex tables and spread sheets. Analytical ability necessary to enter and balance entry data, verifies and traces data, and generates routine and non-routine reports. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Work may involve some light physical exertion (i.e. typing, walking, standing, and lifting) for office work and assisting with special events.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to operate office equipment, computers and software (spreadsheets and word processing), and aptitude to learn eTapestry and Microsoft Excel proficiently.
