General Duties:

Provide administrative, event management and project support for the Director of Development, Major Gifts and Planned Giving and the major gifts/planned giving program
  • Coordinate acknowledgement process, gift processing, benefits and special campaigns for the Galen Society and the Arlington Legacy Society
  • Support major donor cultivation process including the daily inpatient donor services program
  • Provide project support on major donor fundraising initiatives and follow up to include production of stewardship mailing, solicitation mailings and special campaigns
  • Support the development donor recognition opportunities for major donors
  • Organize, manage and execute major gifts and planned giving special events
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and Development Officers on major gift proposals, planned giving marketing and presentations
  • Provide support for the staffing of special fundraising committees including the Galen Leadership Committee, Legacy Planning Committee and event host committee
  • Maintain and improve data base functions for major gifts and planned giving, generate fundraising reports and utilize prospect management system to properly guide donor interactions
  • Maintain historical files on donors and projects supported by donor contributions
  • Perform basic research on prospective donors and prepare donor profiles
  • Provide administrative support for the major gifts and planned giving program include scheduling of meetings and preparing presentations
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
  • College degree or equivalent experience (2-3 years) preferred
  • Four (4) years of administrative support experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and the ability to compose correspondence
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge or fundraising software is preferred
