Job Description:
To provide full-performance administrative support work for the development office, specifically in the areas of special events, annual giving and alumni relations, by ensuring the overall organization and efficiency in these areas. Work is subject to general supervision and is reviewed for technical correctness and compatibility with area policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for administrative support for the development office, and its directors

Coordinates the work flow for special events, annual giving and alumni relations, which may include planning, delegating, and reviewing the work of other clerical employees and/or student workers

Oversees administrative details of carrying out special events as assigned, including set up for events and monitoring ongoing needs to ensure the success of the events

Performs highly skilled tasks within Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Publisher and associated programs to draft, edit, review and prepare correspondence, reports, memos, grants, forms and other related development documents

Uses appropriate programs and technology to design and maintains spreadsheets, databases, web pages, invitations, announcements, certificates, etc.

Provides assistance with meeting arrangements including catering, room set up, AV equipment and creating and/or formatting board/council materials for copying, binding and mailing for special events boards and committees

Makes travel arrangements for directors; submits purchase requisitions and purchase orders for office as necessary, including mileage reimbursement requests; places work orders with plant operations, information technology, motor pool, or the mail room

Compensation:
$19.68 per hour, plus excellent medical insurances, paid leaves and tuition reimbursement.

This position is overtime eligible.

Minimum Qualifications:
AA degree preferred.

Completion of high school (or equivalent) required, including or supplemented by experience and/or coursework in the office technology area.

Minimum two years clerical office work experience.

Expertise with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and apply new software quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with special events, fundraising and development correspondence.

Ability to learn quickly and use own initiative to determine needs and resolve issues.
