The Development Communications Officer is a key member of the PATH Development team responsible for driving revenue and engagement opportunities through development and marketing activities while securing funding from corporate and private donors. The position is an integral part of the PATH Development team, assisting with special events, volunteer cultivation, grant writing and administration. JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Development Communications Officer

Classification: Full Time

FLSA: Exempt

Reports To: Chief Development & Communications Officer

Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 per year, DOE

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Summary:
The Development Communications Officer is responsible for achieving specific programmatic goals for fundraising initiatives, community investment communications, marketing and volunteerism. This position oversees specific program activities, supervises staff and volunteers, and ensures the long-term sustainability and expansion of PATH’s core business, PATH’s development activities and outreach programs.

Responsibilities

 Fundraising – Create and manage effective strategies and giving opportunities to increase private and corporate fundraising while building individual donor database. Focus on special events, direct mail, online giving, donor identification and c ultivation. Establish long-term relationships with private-sector influencers and donors in the community to build new funding partnerships and opportunities.

 Special Event Management – Create and manage all aspects of in-house special events focused on fundraising. Drive events through marketing, budgeting, production, cultivation and acknowledgement. Recruit and support volunteers, conducting third party events.

 Corporate Outreach and Sponsorship – Guide and manage effective corporate outreach progra m while creating, cultivating and building on existing partnerships. Drive corporate revenue opportunities and manage cause-related marketing campaigns. Connect giving and volunteer opportunities with PATH events and programs

 Support Grant Writing Effor ts - Provide support for grants program ensuring revenue goals are met, meet grant deadlines and reporting.

 Public Relations, Tours – Conduct strategic public relations outreach. Act as point of contact for inbound media requests. Act as official comp any spokesperson. Provide public tours of PATH facilities to donors and VIPs.

 Communications – Manage and drive programs with communications team to create content and relationships that increase PATH’s public awareness and brand including advertising, c elebrity recruitment and support, publicity and media.

 Maintain Social Media and Websites - Maintain and regularly update all social media and website(s) with relevant and useful information.

 Fundraising Support - Work with management and program dire ctors to develop and implement fund strategies and provide technical assistance.

 Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

 Strong written and verbal communications and computer skills

 Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

 Has 3-5 years comparable experience in development, communications and community outreach.

 Successful history planning and executing fundraising and community engagement programs.

 Experience working with volunteers.

 Manage multiple tasks and tim elines simultaneously.

 Ability to integrate a complex organization with a highly creative and innovative environment.

 Highly motivated self-starter, with proven ability to develop creative solutions product marketing, business development and sales e xperience a plus.

 Project a professional demeanor and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

 Great attitude and people skills.

 Maintain regular at tendance.
