This position would be responsible for project development activities specific to energy storage throughout the US. The role will be filled by an individual with a working knowledge of energy development (conventional and/or renewable) including, but not limited to, energy markets (capacity and/or transmission and ancillary services), land owner relations, land agreements and title work, interconnection studies and agreements, economic analysis, permitting and environmental studies, investor and/or customer relations and energy policy (general and/or specific to energy storage). General knowledge of construction practices associated with energy facilities would be beneficial. Ability to critically review and assess development opportunities from a feasibility and economic standpoint, as well as strong communication skills would be essential to the role. Basic understanding of energy storage and its applications is preferred as is the ability to 'think-outside-the-box' regarding possible energy storage applications.


1. Prospecting of green-field energy storage sites based on market, transmission and environmental/permitting constraints.
2. Identification of, and outreach to, prospective landowners.
3 . Development and maintenance of project-level budgets and schedules.
4. Preparation of and negotiation of land options and leases.
5. Management of environmental studies and permit applications.
6. Represents company at community and/or permit application hearings, when applicable.
7. Working with transmission group to apply for and negotiate Utility Interconnection Agreements.
8. Preparation of Senior Management reports.
9. Evaluation of project-level economic viability.
10. Development and maintenance of 'key client' relationships.
11. Working with Finance team to optimize project economics and to pursue project finance options.
12. Staying current with market and policy movements in regards to storage.
13. Presenting new opportunities in energy storage technologies and applications to Senior management.
14. Education of 'key clients' regarding the benefits and functions of storage technologies.
15. Attending webinars and/or in-person seminars to network with others operating in the energy storage space and with energy storage end-users.
16. Coordination with in-house Construction team.


1. Three years of experience in project development or equivalent industry experience.
2. Able to successfully manage the full-spectrum of core responsibilities independently or with limited over-sight, and consistently solves complex problems to move the development process forward at any given stage (land acquisition-financial closing).
3. Expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the client and will be instrumental in delivering on time cost effective projects.
4. Ability to travel.
5. Skilled in MSOffice and Outlook.
