Right now, our Cloud Automation Group is looking to bring on a DevOPs infrastructure solutions architect. The role will be responsible for 'owning' the end-to-end deployment architecture for commercial offerings and will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure Operational Services.
This role will primarily work with R&D, Software Architects and Project Managers in a virtual team and focus on designing, building and deploying high availability, robust, resilient and supportable solutions. We are looking for individuals that have grown up in an Operations/Infrastructure group that have been exposed to various aspects of an enterprise Infrastructure (networking, storage, virtualization, hardware, etc.) but have extensive Linux expertise ideally Kernel-level tuning expertise and a deep understanding of software installations and how they work.
We want highly skilled Linux professionals that know everything about Linux and how to manage Internet-based applications/software on top of the Linux platform installing software, automating the installation process (install packages), automated config changes, centralized log management practices, Scripting (python, Perl) and creating UI wrappers around command-line IT Operational tools (eg
» Supporting the Mobile Solutions program and projects delivery from an infrastructure architecture perspective, ensuring new technologies are successfully deployed and meet strict operational acceptance criteria.
» Work closely with R&D, Software Architects and other Solution Architects in designing infrastructure architecture best practice methodologies, ensuring high availability for high volume Internet services.
» Work as part of a virtual team of specialists responsible for defining and driving infrastructure technology standards across the Service Platforms team, including hosting, network, storage, virtualization and edge computing amongst others.
» Contribute as part of a &solution architect community&, namely a strong virtual team of like minded individuals to help drive a philosophy of continuous service improvement in infrastructure technology design.
» Evaluate the latest technologies, with the goal of ensuring reliability and resilience while rapidly scaling the infrastructure to meet high volume demand.
» Understand business requirements and translate these into innovative technical solutions.
» 10 - 12 + years experience in relevant software or Internet service industry with a service operational background.
» 5+ years as a Service or Solutions Architect or Senior Systems Engineer
» 5+ years as a Linux Systems Administrator or Senior Systems Engineer using Rat Hat or CentOS
» Originates new concepts; recognized technical or creative leader
» Experience in mentoring and coaching on infrastructure technologies
» Leads teams by example and encourages innovative thinking
» Deployment Tools: CVS, Subversion, Clearcase and Puppet (at least one tool)
» Strong Scripting skills eg Perl & Python
» Experience with the implementation, and maintenance of kickstart server and yum update.
» Familiar with revision control systems (CVS, SVN); deployment tool (cfengine)
» Experience with centralized log analysis tools eg syslog-ng
» Monitoring Tools: Nagios Professional, Cacti
» Understand server virtualization technology such as VMware and kvm
» Experience in Internet technologie : horizontally scaled systems, high-throughput services
» Multi-Data Center & Service Continuity Management
» Application Servers and Open Source Components: Linux, JBoss.
