The Diabetes RN Educator collaborates with other members of the healthcare team, patients, and families to consult on and facilitate diabetes education within the organization and the community. The Diabetes RN Educator’s focus is on consultations for patients that are newly diagnosed and/or have complex diabetes management needs. The Diabetes RN Educator makes decisions guided by evidence based best practices, as well as policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

Registered Nurse with Arizona or compact state licensure. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Basic life support for healthcare providers.
Master Degree in Nursing or related field. Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting working with diabetic patients. Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment)
3 years of experience as a Diabetic Educator in an acute care hospital setting. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic health record systems.
