Job Duties Include: Master of troubleshooting skills, combining extensive personal experience with broad knowledge of most efficient an economical means to properly maintain and repair trailers.High degree of proficiency in rebuilding all components of DFL trailers.Thoroughly performs PM inspections and repairs.Maintains a high level of welding and metal fabrication skills.Efficiently repairs all of the following trailer components: Suspension and running gear components, Frame, landing gear assembly, kingpin place and all support components, Wheel components and tires, Brake and air components, Electrical, lighting and wiring components, Rear frame and door components, Lift gates.Side, nose and roof components, Interior and floor components.Performs service calls.Perform duty requirements of all other techs, including trainees, when necessary.Wash and fuel equipment when necessary.Road test vehicles to ensure quality repair service is performed.Advise the supervisor and interested operational personnel immediately when; outlined work is found not needed or misdiagnosed; 2) additional repair needs are found; 3) work cannot be completed on time.Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as necessary.Consistently positive attitude, interacting courteously and professionally with fellow employees.Proactively assist, guide and direct junior technicians.Be aware of all assigned work in the shop and assume responsibility for its proper completion.Be involved in the daily operations and, when asked, fill in during the absence of the supervisor.Demonstrate professional excellence at all times and set a good example for others to follow.Be a leading participant in the care and upkeep of the shop, the grounds and all equipment and tools.Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies to OSHA and company standards.Be proficient in all required paperwork and record keeping.Report questionable abuse and unauthorized tampering of equipment to the supervisor.Work with the Parts Department to assure that all necessary material; parts, service supplies and shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels.Comply with all Parts Department procedures and rules at all times.Work in compliance to EPA regulations.Work within all DOT and company safety requirements.
