The Dietitian is responsible for the day to day
assessment of all aspects of residents at nutritional
risk. This employee will collaborate with members of the
healthcare team in providing medical nutrition therapy.
He/she will also provide nutrition care as outlined in
the policies and procedures for nutritional risk
Administrator of the facility and Regional Director of
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess resident needs related to diets and medical
nutrition therapy needs.
Communicate with the Director of Nutritional Services.
Attend and participate in WE CARE and other meetings as
Communicate with the management team, as needed.
Assess all new admissions and complete MDS assessments
Conduct sanitation inspections of the kitchen.
Conduct test trays
Conduct meal rounds.
Generate monthly weight loss report us the SNO program..
Data entry as needed.
Screen, assess, and educate residents at nutritional
Provide education and inservices to staff as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements – preferred not required:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a long term care
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of MDS assessment process including MDS 3.0.
Knowledge of food service regulations in applicable
Knowledge of long-term care regulations in applicable
Ability to screen, assess, and educate residents at
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics is
RD status as per American Dietetic Associations
credentialing agency (CDR).
Preferred licensure in assigned state.
