Salary: Paraprofessional Class VI: $15.09-$22.34

Schedule: 20-30 hours/week, student contact days only

Job Summary : The Technology Support Paraprofessional position at the Junior High Schools in Hopkins Public Schools provides technical support for the digital content initiative. This position coordinates initial deployment, just-in-time and planned support for hardware and software .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Provide support to students and staff to effectively use technology and District resources.

Works with appropriate staff in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software tools as applied to the curriculum.

Troubleshoot device issues in the classrooms, and as needed.

Support digital content and classroom technology needs as required.

Coordinate repair of broken devices, replacement of lost/missing accessories, recovery of missing/stolen devices.

Coordinate with District for deployment of management updates to devices.

Coordinate with teachers and staff for testing/deployment of new software, and for discipline management.

Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Evidence of ability to prioritize, work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Expertise in the use of technology based teaching and learning resources (Google Apps, Course Management Systems)

Demonstrates knowledge of new devices, computer, video, communication, and web-based technologies.

Demonstrate knowledge of iOS, ChromeOS, OS X, Windows operating systems and management of these systems.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively assist technology users, both staff and students.

Maintain skills in troubleshooting hardware and software used by students and staff.

Maintain skills in computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, and image processing.

Knowledge of management of iOS devices using Apple configurator and JAMF Casper Suite preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements:


Minimum two (2) years post-secondary education required or ability to successfully pass the paraprofessional proficiency exam.

Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning.

Collaborate effectively with others.

1-2 years of successful experience using technology in the learning process.
