Digital Editor-Cycle World
High-volume editing of copy and overall editorial planning for cycleworld.com.
Manages monthly M&I web budget.
Strong sense of what makes a good web story and how to deliver it with impact.
Initiates key, original story concepts and executes them in a timely manner.
Helps develop content appropriate for mobile consumption.
Works closely with Web Producer and Assistant Art Director to coordinate efficient processing of digital assets.
Responsible for social media management. Post cadence, type of posts, contents ( Slipstream
caption contest, fan-gated product giveaways, etc. ).
Works with centralized services and Editor-in-Chief to set overall social strategy.
Works closely with the Managing editor to ensure appropriate degree of synergy between print and on-line presence. Ensures any redirects in the print/digital magazine have the content published online by deadline.
Basic knowledge of web development, UI and understanding of metrics to help maximize our digital presence. Works with the Digital Director on web dev and page layout to give users a great, efficient experience on the site and to help build high-quality, high-volume traffic.
Sets annual digital editorial calendar to 13-month standard; major events (Milan/Cologne Show, U.S. MotoGP rounds, “theme” weeks coordinated with print cover packages).
Ideally, the candidate is also a serious, capable all-around rider. A current motorcycle license and clean driving record are minimum standards.
