Position Description

Plan and implement interactive media campaigns including:
CPM, CPC and CPL media placements

Search engine marketing


Rich media and online video placements

Plan and implement emerging interactive media campaigns including:

Instant text messaging

Content sponsorships

Mobile and text marketing

Viral and Blog marketing

Buzz marketing/reporting/coordination

Work as part of a traditional media planning group, applying interactive media solutions to overall client objectives

Clearly communicate interactive media strategy to clients

Supervise and train junior/middle level employees

Conduct routine client communications

Primary Duties

Develop, present, implement and optimize interactive media plans and strategies actively provide relevant information about trends in interactive media to planning group, agency stakeholders and clients

Plan interactive strategy in tandem with traditional media planning teams

Work with media planning, account service and creative teams to determine what specific needs are for interactive advertising

Utilize available interactive media planning tools (ie. comScore, Forrester and other industry research, client’s historical media activity reports) to develop interactive media plans

Present media plans directly to clients who may, or may not, have expertise in interactive media

Negotiate with interactive media vendors and provide a final negotiated recommendation to the client

Work together with creative teams to ensure creative specifications of negotiated plan are satisfied

Monitor media campaigns via third-party ad serving software, having daily, weekly and/or monthly campaign performance meetings internally and reporting results to client

Optimize the campaign with media vendors ongoing

Provide regular analyses of all efforts/initiatives

Prepare and present interactive media information to selected publics, as necessary (industry groups)

Develop POVs as needed in response to client and planning team requests

Develop “Media Alerts” and documents for and regular client mailings

Provide daily leadership and direction to Digital Media Planning staff

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Media, Communications, or equivalent, relevant experience.

5+ years of total media planning experience at a director level, one year of traditional planning experience is a plus

Demonstrated presentation and writing skills

Third-party ad serving, tracking and reporting expertise (e.g. Double-click) comScore or similar product

MS Office: Internet Explorer, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Full service agency experience preferred, but not required

Work with premier regional and national clients.
