We're seeking a motivated, conscientious individual with demonstrated paralegal and organizational skills to join our International & Regulatory Affairs Group in Mattel's Law Department.Basic Job Responsibilities included but are not limited to: This individual will support two senior attorneys handling U.S. privacy regulations and regulatory legal matters for Mattel's Digital Centers of Excellence, primarily in areas of internet, social media and privacy, with additional duties supporting the North American Division's marketing, sales, new media and other groups on various regulatory matters, including advertising, promotions,. This individual will have constant and direct contact with internal stakeholders as well as outside counsel and third parties. This individual will report to the Assistant General Counsel, U.

S. Regulatory Legal Affairs but will be required to actively manage multiple matters simultaneously while also timely responding to day-to-day questions and issues. The types of matters covered by this position are broad and include: ' Privacy and other internet regulatory law, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) the Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising, and other federal and state laws and industry standards related to privacy; primarily U.S. regulation with some international.' Advertising and promotions law, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, Advertising Guidelines of the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau (CARU), and other federal and state laws and industry standards governing advertising, social media, sweepstakes and promotions.' Other consumer protection regulations under federal and state law and industry standards, and other regulatory areas as assigned.Skills and Abilities ' Ability to cover a wide variety of practice areas including U.S.

regulatory matters, primarily in areas of advertising, promotions, internet and privacy law (particularly children's issues governed by COPPA and CARU) ' Ability to identify and analyze issues and elevate as appropriate ' Ability to take ownership of issues and matters through to their successful conclusion' Provide timely responses' Communicate effectively in person and in writing' Leadership and organization skills, including planning, prioritization and time management ' Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the Law Department and Company team' Exceptionally high attention to detail' Maintain a professional demeanor, in writing and in person, with support staff, management, and outside counsel; andwork cooperatively with colleagues around the world.
