Position summary

Immediate opening for a highly skilled eDiscovery/Litigation Support professional who can produce quality work in digital media platforms such as IPRO, LAW, NUIX, Adobe, etc. Must possess strong leadership skills, and have the ability to supervise digital production staff and digital project work. Responsible for managing and coordinating workflow / production for digital media work. Create local initiatives that increase visibility and utilization for digital on-demand services. Develop processes and procedures to ensure successful delivery on commitments to client.

Create training materials that upscale onsite staff’s skill set on digital reproduction and technology.

Job qualifications

  • Two-year degree in computer/technical field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science or related fields of study preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in high production environment within a law firm or vendor environment.
  • 2-5 years’ experience with legal database knowledge
  • Extensive experience with data conversion, database creation, data delivery
  • Must be able to understand litigation, eDiscovery, and the document lifecycle
  • Ability to multi-task among several requests and individuals producing work to end result (client receivable) that may be in the form of digital output, CD/DVD burn, FTP site hosting, etc.
  • Expert level experience in managing and maintaining IPRO, LAW, Relativity, Concordance, Summation, Adobe Professional or similar enterprise level database system, preferably in a law firm environment
  • Solid understanding of all MS Office applications (including Excel and Access); basic networking, Windows 2000/XP, MSDOS and flat files (CSV)
  • Proficiency with data management services (loading images to the network, burning CDs/DVDs, loading data into database applications, conducting database inquiries and development report for legal teams)
  • Clear verbal skills via in person and telephonic delivery
  • Excellent written skills, without error, to clients at the highest level (legal environment Partners / Shareholders)
  • Ability to multi-manage several projects at one time and under stressful conditions and time deadlines
  • Strong technical writing skills; clear understanding of client confidentiality

Supervision

Supervises production staff and workflow in digital on-demand services for at least 2 employees.

  • Interview, select, manage and develop a high performing site team.
  • Provide instruction/coaching and work in coordination with direct line supervisors to manage performance and professional development of staff, including planning, needs assessments, leadership, and team development.
  • Manage the disciplinary process, ensuring that performance feedback is given to employees in a timely and consistent manner and documented in line with company policy.
  • Manage the flex staffing model to ensure that the site is appropriately staffed and operating at the most cost-effective level.
  • Manage employee retention targets.
  • Approach site compensation, promotional increases and merit increases strategically, balancing employee rewards and site profitability.
  • Oversee supervisors or leads in the day-to-day management of staff and digital media production.
Operations

  • Produce digital media work according to job intake request (create, develop and support document databases, image bases, indexes, transcripts and document productions iniConnect.nxt, Concordance, LAW and IPRO)
  • Coordinate scanning, unitization and objective coding of documents
  • Perform OCR and EDD processing and prepare for loading into database
  • Conduct quality control of each processing step from document collection to production
  • Serve as the point person to resolve software/hardware issues relating to the supported litigation tools and applications
  • Receive and confirm instructions telephonically and in person
  • Primary point of contact for resolving client complaints, issues and concerns regarding digital projects and production work.
  • Responsible for resolving complaints and formulating new processes, procedures and guidelines to avoid reoccurrences.
  • Create operating manual and training materials for digital processes and procedures. Will also be responsible for training and ongoing development of onsite staff.
  • Provide guidance and direction to senior management on new digital technology, best practices and processes for legal digital services.
  • Set local site digital service level goals and create action plans to meet and exceed these goals.
