We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Print Operator in Washington, DC.
Position is part-time (16-20hours per week) and candidate MUST be able to work required scheduled (non-negotiable) - every Monday & every Friday from approx. 8am - 5:00pm. Additional hours (as needed) may be available to cover absences during the day shift or evening shift. Note: On occasion, if a Federal holiday falls on a Monday, candidate would be needed on Tuesday of the same week.
The set up, operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of Digiweb/Digipath and other electronic duplicating systems with network and conversion capabilities.
Understanding operator reference guides and other documentation for systems.
Creating and reproducing documents with less complex formats, determine appropriate screen patterns, develop halftones and complete layouts or position images for duplicating while allowing for proper margins, bleed, page sequence, folding and final trim.
The operation of personal computers/workstations to include use of operating software (e.g., operating systems and applications software packages, touchscreen, storage and manipulation of information in memory)
Operating media conversion devices.
System instructions required for digitally printing standard jobs, nonstandard jobs, tabs and covers.
Using Adobe InDesign to create and format files for digital printing.
Describing any input documents to be scanned or loaded from an electronic file and the output requirements for the system, including knowledge of special features to crop, mask, merge, shift, delete and rotate images.
Scanning, copying or imaging litigation case files and the specialized software or features associated with such files.
Using the equipments capabilities to program new jobs and digitally print jobs concurrently and to enhance the quality of page images, including photographs and halftones, using automated version of traditional printing and duplicating techniques.
Trouble-shooting, providing preventive maintenance of equipment, analyzing and solving automation software and hardware problems.
Operating all collating, folding, binding and other equipment required to initiate or finish printing jobs.
Understand complicated instructions and perform mixed duties simultaneously.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
At least two years of experience in computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications will generally be expected; at least one year must be experience with the specific applications being supported. Must have hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported. Experience with DOJ office automation environments extremely helpful; should be an expert user of the Government's word processing, spreadsheet, and email systems. Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
Must be able to lift, move and load paper/equipment exceeding 50 pounds.
Undergraduate degree strongly preferred.
