DESCRIPTION

To provide intensive in-home parenting and stabilization services to families who reside in Cape May County.

DUTIES

To provide direct services including, but not limited to, individual, marital and family crisis intervention, skill-building, counseling, problem-solving, parenting skill teaching, consultation and interviewing.

To provide case management and concrete services including, but not limited to, advocacy, coordination of services, community referral and linkage or direct assistance (such as transportation of clients to interviews, other social service providers, etc.) when indicated.

To assist other program staff and their clients as needed, including, but not limited to, coordination of case assignments, attending initial sessions, assessing new referrals, formulating client goals, participating in case-consultation meetings, and providing counseling.

To carry out designated duties as assigned by supervisor.

To maintain current and accurate client records, including but not limited to, detailed record keeping of clients progress, preparing reports related to the provision of service and accurate filing of chart documents.

To regard all information about clients as confidential.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Social Work degree or Bachelor of Arts degree in the social sciences and successful field work, practicum or employment working with children, youth and families; or a Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university and one and a half years experience in providing services to families.

Interviewing, assessment, counseling and casework management skills.

Initiative, flexibility and creativity.

Dependability and ability to work well with others.

A Valid NJ driver's license.

Sensitivity in functioning in a multi-cultural work setting.

Ability to communicate clearly and consistently.

Sensitivity and understanding in human relations.

Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
