Work directly for Shentel Cable selling and promoting Shentel Cable products with a focus on video, high-speed internet and home phone services. The Direct Sales Representative will increase product penetration in designated residential areas through sales to current, former and new customers.
Direct Sales Representatives are self-directed individuals who are motivated by customer satisfaction, goal attainment and earnings potential. Direct Sales Representatives are compensated through a plan that includes a base salary and commission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Canvass assigned and approved territory to solicit potential customers.
b. Demonstrates strong understanding of Shentel products, promoting and selling offerings to individual dwellings by knocking every door within assigned territory. Displays thorough and recent competitive knowledge of features, benefits, product differences, pricing, and campaigns for video, high-speed internet, and home phone services.
c. Communicates and develops rapport with customers. Evaluates customers' existing and potential product needs and make recommendations. Increases customer understanding of Shentel products and pricing models, as well as, competitive advantage over other service providers. Evaluates competitive offers and frame responses to show the benefits of Shentel.
d. Maintains and distributes company materials on prices, programming, products and services.
e. Meets and/or exceeds sales goals as established by local market.
f. Audit existing data base.
g. Prepare and complete daily/weekly sales activity report.
h. Attend all sales meetings and seminars.
i. Independently establishes and organizes daily sales activities.
j. Reviews, completes, and signs service/work order requests, collects monies if necessary and insures all paperwork is properly and accurately completed.
k. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
l. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
m. Assists and participates in other projects as required including fairs, retails sites and trade shows.
n. Retrieves company equipment while in the field.
o. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

III. Qualification Requirements:
a. Education: High school or GED equivalent
b. Previous experience in direct sales is preferred, with an emphasis on direct door to door sales.
c. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, insured and reliable vehicle.
d. Demonstrates effective sales, listening and time management skills.
e. Excellent presentation and communication skills.
f. Positive, can-do attitude with strong customer focus.
g. Possess ability to learn and execute marketing/selling techniques.
h. Basic knowledge of mathematics.
i. Consistently develops and sustains supportive work relationships.
j. Professional appearance and behavior required.
k. Good time management and organizational skills.
l. Proficiency with computers, laptops and tablets running the Microsoft Suite applications including Excel, as well as other productivity applications.

IV. Knowledge of:
Residential sales and a basic knowledge of video, internet and home phone services.
