This position promotes independence and self-esteem to individuals with developmental disabilities in Wildwood operated in the consumer and family home by performing the following duties:
• Provides care and support to individuals with a developmental disability in their home through companionship and activities in areas of leisure.
• Provides respite/relief to care givers and other family members to attend to their respective tasks or interests knowing that their family member is safe and well cared for.
* The DSP-Respite Worker will be working with a 12 year old young man who enjoys reading and loves to play games on his iPad and computer as well as outside at his home in Charlton. Location is close to Glenville, Burnt Hills and Schenectady.Flexible hours and days after the school day at 4pm and/or weekends.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Medication Administration based on program need, First-Aid and CPR certification or eligibility for certification. SCIP/PROMOTE certification based on program need. A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
