Position Title: Director, Advertising
Manage the brand including developing brand vision and strategy; develop and maintain brand guidelines. Develop consumer segment marketing value propositions. Lead brand vision and strategy development
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead brand vision and strategy development
Develop Brand, Segment, and Campaign Messaging Architecture
Initiate primary research and translate findings into actionable consumer insights
Develop Brand Advertising Creative
Develop New Product/Segment Creative
Manage Brand Guidelines (Direct and Indirect)
Manage Advertising Agencies
Manage Naming, Licensing and Trademarks
Develop Growth Strategy for new segments/targets
Evaluate Branded integration opportunities (will partner with Media Director)
Manage Existing Customer Communications
Education/Work Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
10 -12 years experience developing creative strategies and executing advertising campaigns with 2-4 years previous experience in a fast moving consumer good company
Previous experience managing the production of creative assets including TV advertising, radio, print, etc.
Broad experience in the areas of strategic planning, customer and market needs analysis, product life cycle planning, Marketing plan execution and/or Marcom and channel implementation
Experience leading and managing cross-functional and matrix-managed organizations through times of growth and change
Ability to synthesize existing/secondary research or scope primary research to uncover customer needs
Ability to develop and manage financial forecasts including lead and unit expectations, expense budgets and translation of financials to media plans and sales goals
Ability to develop targets and measure ROI on key programs and as related to segment goals
Knowledge of general Marketing-to-Sales funnel (awareness • targeted activity • lead generation • sales opportunity • closed sale • new customer • existing customer) and ability to develop strategic plans to drive this funnel and translate funnel requirements to peer teams to enable their own deliverables (i.e. Marcom or Sales)
Familiarity with product life cycle planning and the ability to gauge market/customer needs, prioritize needs for Product Solutions team, support product trials and develop product launch plans
Knowledge of Marcom-Marketing-Advertising agency relationship and ability to create effective strategic briefings for the Marcom and agency teams, driving the development of high impact creative concepts, media plans and advertising messaging
Ability to work with the field Sales organization with an internal partner-as-client approach; Coordinate field sales & Marketing activity to drive overall segment Marketing, Sales and financial goals
