Applications and nominations are invited for the open position of Director, Agricultural Communications Services. This person reports to the Vice President, Dean, and Director, Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (DASNR).

The position is responsible for leadership and management of programs, operations, and approximately 20 staff within the unit, including support services for extension, research, and teaching functions of the Division. These services include publication production, communications, marketing, video production, web-based delivery, media relations, social media, and press services to local, regional, and national audiences. This Unit also produces two weekly television programs that air on Public Television. The Director is administratively responsible to the Vice President, who also is the Dean and Director of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Experience:
Three (3) years of progressive professional experience in mass communications or agricultural communications, including experience with marketing campaigns;

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses

Valid Driver's license.

Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge

Thorough understanding of the land-grant university system;

Proven ability to work across a broad spectrum of media and medial technologies;

ability to listen, communicate, and represent the unit effectively with administrators and faculty, agencies, and on-and-off campus interest groups;

ability to make timely decisions;

ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively;

knowledge of agricultural, economics, and social issues affecting producers, business managers, rural and urban communities, and consumers;

experience with communications research desirable; and

ACE membership and leadership experience is desirable.

Preferred

Ph.D. / Ed.D.

Experience:
Seven (7) years of progressive professional experience in mass communications or agricultural communications, including experience with marketing campaigns.
