Job Summary

Directs and oversees the business development, communications, and marketing functions of Alumni Affairs and the Auburn Alumni Association. Essential functions include but are not limited to: directs and performs revenue solicitation through affinity partner contracts, sponsorship, magazine ad sales, membership dues, and other business development opportunities; markets all alumni programs and projects; directs efforts aimed at growing the membership of the Auburn Alumni Association; directs alumni communications areas including, but not limited to, the alumni magazine and other publications, website and social media outlets; directs and manages the strategic planning and other business functions of multiple areas of Alumni Affairs; supervises and manages full-time staff; develops and manages budgets, ensuring consistency with financial objectives; ability to work effectively and efficiently with university employees, affinity partners and alumni; ability to multi-task effectively; ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or related field; six (6) years of experience in communications, marketing, sales, or management; knowledge of various marketing and communication theories, concepts, techniques, mediums, and strategies; and knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles. Desired Qualifications

Desired qualifications include: a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration and the disciplines listed above; proven success in business development opportunities to solicit revenue; extensive experience in direct sales with vendors and product organizations; extensive experience in developing and managing campaigns for membership-based organizations.
