The Director of Business Development will have a proven track record in building strong client relationships in the clinical research industry.
The post holder will be able to achieve and maintain positive client relationships. Must be able to design and deliver powerful capabilities and proposal defense presentations in conjunction with highly skilled clinical and operation personnel; create business opportunities through industry relationships; proactively work with customer and project teams to resolve sponsor issues by helping to creating specific action plans that support the customer and the project team. The position will also communicate industry events and trends to company leadership and management. Utilizes strategies and implements tactics to persuade prospective sponsors to contract with Worldwide Clinical Trials. Makes sales calls to prospective new clients to initiate new business relationships. . Organizes and presents sales presentations to sponsors. Represents WCT at industry-related conventions and trade shows. Coordinates the efforts for response to Requests for Proposals.
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
Prepare and organize sponsor presentations
Establish and maintain an excellent rapport with future and current clientele.
Monitor and track competitor CRO Activities
Plan and attend major industrial events and tradeshows
Collect critical information for proposal preparation
Perform prospecting, negotiate and close sales
Develop account strategies and expand through accounts
Understand the proposal process and provide input
Ability to travel extensively

Knowledgeable in the drug development process preferably gained within a CRO
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and sales management software
