Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a max-level heroic business intelligence director to spearhead BI initiatives across the organization, champion data and analytical excellence, and lead our elite guild of data developers, researchers, analysts, and architects. With data in their veins, this director will stop at nothing to make Blizzard smarter, quicker, and stronger by empowering our development and business teams with the insight they need to make the best decisions possible, and more importantly, the best games possible for our players.
Work directly with development leads and business executives to identify and understand key design and business questions, and standardize key metrics and measures.
Develop innovative BI driven solutions for organizational data processing, management, analysis, and reporting.
Provide strategic direction for the team, establish priorities, identify areas for growth, and oversee and drive the execution of projects
Continue to expand the role, adoption, and integration of BI across all of Blizzard’s teams and future products.
Manage, mentor, motivate, and level up the talented members of the BI team.
Exceptional ability to lead, inspire, and manage large teams
Unrelenting champion of data-based decision making, data integrity, and analytical innovation
Obsessed with the positive impact data and analytics can have on a product, service, and business, but recognizes and understands its limitations as well
Able to effectively discuss, translate, and describe highly complex topics with a non-technical audience
In-depth understanding of BI tools, services, and technologies
Passionate gamer and in-depth knowledge of Blizzard games, products, and services
Comfortable dealing with complicated statistical models and analytical frameworks
Healthy understanding of game industry landscape and evolving business models
Able to appreciate beautiful (but meaningful) data visualization
Can hold aggro as a tank and doesn’t stand in the fire
Highly technical background with an MBA is preferred
