Collaborate and partner with members of the Executive and Management team and all operating departments across the organization in addition to the design staff on all marketing and public relations efforts. Seek and build relationships with strategic media contacts within the non-profit healthcare and social services space.
Conduct proactive media relations and continually seek creative methods to strategically place FEGS spokespeople and messaging in the press and in other public forums for the purpose of raising brand awareness of the organization and positioning of FEGS as thought leader in various arenas.
Prepare and disseminate press releases and coordinate with the digital team to maximize effectiveness of communications strategies.
Create/edit compelling marketing and program materials, reports, video, advertising etc.
Create/edit and manage content for the organizations website and the internal intranet site and oversee all internal communications to staff and other constituents across the organization.
Create, format and prepare quarterly e-newsletter for online delivery to donors, volunteers and partners.
Oversee, develop and edit all written content included in promotional and marketing collaterals, brochures and other publications, across digital social media space and other medium to project consistent and compelling messaging about the organization which reflects its values, mission, vision and directions.
Manage the development of the organization’s Annual Report.
With the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, prepare annual communications plan and targets.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Superior written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and take the initiative. Working knowledge of digital social media market and opportunities in this space.
A minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible experience, of which at least five (5) have been at the management level leading a communications function/department for a significant not-for-profit organization, public relations/marketing agency or for-profit company.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing an effective, multi-tiered communications strategy.
Experience working with media and established contacts preferred.
Experience in not-for-profit sector coordinating communication activities in the areas of fundraising and events a plus.
