EMA is dedicated to providing health and wellness services to EMA residents (and their families), EMA staff, and the community as a whole. This is accomplished through providing wellness services. Wellness services consist of programs, education presentations, fitness instruction classes, group exercise and fitness programming instruction, nutrition and diet counseling. The director is responsible for the development, implementation, management and on-going evaluation for all aspects of the individual community's Community Center for Health and Wellness.
As director, the fitness professional will create an atmosphere of opportunity for the community to adapt healthy and productive lifestyles and maintain a high quality of physical well-being.
The director is responsible for the overall operation of an individual community's Community Center for Health and Wellness. Each EMA community operates a Community Center for Health and Wellness. Each community center presents a full continuum of fitness related resources. Physical exercise options include aquatics, land-based exercises and cardio-pulmonary group and individualized activities. All programs employ the EMA philosophy of total wellness for the individual and community as well as strive to overcome plagues often affecting the senior community.
The director provides visible and strategic leadership based on EMA philosophy, achieves measurable physical fitness results for the individual and community with varied physical needs, and proactively meets departmental growth through best-in-class programming.
Successful candidates for this position will possess the following:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Certification as a specialist from one or more of the following agencies: ISSA, ACSM, NCCA or DETC
CPR & First Aid Certified
