The Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations, is responsible for planning, implementing, marketing and managing an aggressive multi-year strategic effort that focuses and defines corporate and foundation giving within the context of Boston College's current fundraising program and capital campaign. Reporting to the Executive Director, School Development & Organizational Giving, The Director works with University officers, deans, faculty and administrators to systematically develop a corporate and foundation program that builds on the dynamic growth achieved to date. The Director also will supervise a staff of four professional and two support staff.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in development; have significant experience in fundraising in a research-directed environment; demonstrate a successful track record of securing gifts at the six- and seven-figure levels, ideally within a complex non-profit institution; have significant experience working directly with faculty and academic leaders; exhibit an ability and interest to develop a working knowledge of the faculty's research, accomplishments, and aspirations and to convey the University's academic priorities to a variety of audiences. In addition, the successful incumbent must present exceptionally strong communications and writing skills; proven leadership, management, and organizational skills, particularly while working within a large development organization; experience in a campaign setting; and the personal energy, enthusiasm and drive to set and achieve ambitious goals.
