Director of Engineering coordinates all efforts
of the engineering department. Establishes and
maintains engineering standards and policies.
Plans, conducts and oversees engineering
projects, manufacturing assignments, design
and/or repair assignments which are complex,
difficult and require expert application of
engineering knowledge. Maintains the
Configuration and Document Management (CDM)
department within compliance regulations.
Set goals and objectives for Engineering,
Training, and Process Improvement. Ensure Areas
of responsibility meet goals and objectives by
providing systems, resources, and training as
Oversees the work schedules of assigned
personnel to meet completion dates, technical
specifications and budget limits.
Ensure that appropriate resources are provided
to enable engineering support and training
support be provided for all AAR projects and
proposals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Provides project management and technical
leadership to engineering managers.
Actively participates in business and strategic
planning for assigned division.
Performs such individual assignments as the VP
of Maintenance and Engineering may direct;
establishes and maintains effective work
relationships within the department, the
Corporation and community; and maintains the
professional competence, knowledge and skill
necessary for the satisfactory performance of
all assigned responsibilities.
Performs those administrative activities
necessary for the effective management of the
department, including organization goals and
objectives, and planning, organizing,
integrating, and measuring the work performed
within the department and ensures adequate and
continuous control is exercised over the
activities affecting quality.
Interface with all other departments to ensure a
Acts as Quality System Management Representative
(QSMR) for ISO9001 / AS9110. Member of the
Quality System Review Board (QSRB), Board Member
to the CASS review board.
May be required to travel to customers sites.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year
college or university; or fifteen (15) years
related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and
Broad technical and analytical engineering
experience as applied to product and/or repair
design, manufacturing and process development as
usually evidenced by completion of an
