DESCRIPTION

The Director of Financial Aid provides the vision, leadership and management of the Office of Financial Aid Office and its staff. This position requires a leader with a proven track record in the administration of financial aid and experience with compliance audits, budget management and reporting. This position leads in the effort to provide exceptional customer service to students and the campus community.

DUTIES

Works collaboratively with the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Accounting, Student Affairs and Academic Deans within the area of Enrollment Management
Ensures financial aid services are delivered, following regulatory compliance and good stewardship of institutional, private, federal and state financial aid funds
This position will be responsible for bringing technology based efficiencies to the department and implementing business processes aligned with best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree strongly preferred
Five years of progressive leadership experience in managing Title IV student financial aid programs at a post-secondary level
Experience and strong skills in the effective use and development of technological tools and systems used to support and deliver financial aid programs and services, Preferably experience with PowerFAIDS
Knowledge of state and federal financial aid programs, rules and regulations related to reporting requirements
Strong analytic skills, and an ability to demonstrate process improvement experience and strategic thinking
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work with a diverse population.
