Business Groups Strategy
Flextronics employs a business group strategy that
maximizes the economies of scale of their centralized
core services, such as manufacturing, procurement,
logistics, IT and customized, market-specific
capabilities offered through industry-specific design,
engineering and original design and manufacturing (ODM)

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for
overseeing all aspects of Human Resources for the entire
California region (San Jose, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, San
Carlos and Valencia) to ensure these plants possess the
people, skills and capabilities required to create and
execute the business mission and growth strategies. The
selected candidate will partner with the business
leaders to provide consultative Human Resources support
and counsel, and align the Human Resources strategies to
business needs and drive the execution of Talent
initiatives in support of business segment and corporate
goals. This position will have responsibility for all
facets of HR in the region included but not limited to
talent acquisition, culture, employee communication,
compensation and benefits, employee relations,
performance management, change management,
organizational design and development and engaging HR
employee self-service and HR shared service
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES:
- Develop and manage HR team effectiveness.
- Serves as an employee advocate and advisor to
management on personnel policy and program matters,
making appropriate recommendations to management.
Work collaboratively with senior business leaders to
drive and execute the people initiative that aligns
to the strategy. This position will require
exemplary interpersonal, relationship building,
influencing and leadership capabilities.
- Consults with and counsels management and human
resources staff to ensure that policies, programs
and procedures comply with equal employment
opportunity legal provisions and support the
organization's affirmative action initiatives.
- Initiates and develops new programs in accordance
with overall company objectives and philosophy.
- Write and delivers presentations to senior
management regarding resources policies and
- Coordinates management training in interviewing,
hiring, terminations, promotions, performance
review, safety and sexual harassment.
- Confers with supervisory personnel, human resources
staff, legal counsel and employees to investigate,
document and resolve alleged violations of law and
charges of discrimination or harassment. Prepares
report of findings and makes recommendations for
- Trains employees or obtains external training in the
areas of working in a diverse environment, equal
employment and nondiscrimination regulations, and
creating a discrimination-free and harassment-free
- Supervises the administration of the performance
review and salary administration programs to ensure
effectiveness, compliance and equity within
- Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to
determine competitive compensation plan.
- Prepares workforce plans to project employment
- Oversees the analysis, maintenance and communication
of records required by law or local governing
bodies, or other departments in the organization.
- Manages relationship with on-site temporary agency
and the Company to ensure both policies and
processes are being implemented and compliant.
- Represents organization at personnel-related
hearings and investigations.
- Studies legislation and arbitration decisions to
assess industry trends.
• 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
and leadership capability.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or
manufacturing a plus.
• Bachelor’s college degree preferred.
• Develop and manage HR team effectiveness.
• Excellent leadership and strategic capability; high

• Adept with HR systems; strong Microsoft Office
• Very organized and structured work style.
