Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Client Services, the Director of Human Development Services is responsible for leading the development and implementation of AHA’s enterprise-wide human development strategy. Cultivates and builds strategic partnerships to support the advancement of AHA’s clients toward economic self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. Leverages human development resources across AHA for the benefit of AHA clients. Assesses client needs, analyzes client data and builds a Business case for resource development and partnership building. Establishes and manages contractual relationships with human development services providers. Leads and supervises human development services staff and manages performance..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the daily activities of the AHA’s Human Development Services programs and personnel to include selection, training, and evaluation.
Responsible for managing all human development programs, services and initiatives. Develops strategy plans and metrics for the execution of the human development programs.
Conducts needs assessment, data analysis and other diagnostics to determine services required for clients.
Provides technical assistance to key staff as it relates to the design and implementation of human development programs.
Responsible for overseeing and managing service provider contracts and MOUs, metrics, outcomes, program reviews and audits of the human development programs. Works with Leadership team to develop and maintain a comprehensive network of education, job training, and economic development supportive services for individuals and families.
Serves as an advocate in the community for Atlanta Housing Authority clients. Cultivates relationships with community leaders, Client Services Managers and participants to identify client needs, leverage support, implement solutions, and support agency goals. Attends appropriate community meetings to increase access to resources and to support agency goals.
Monitors and evaluates the quality of services currently administered or delivered by both staff and AHA service providers. Actively works to stabilize clients and promote self-sufficiency.
Effectively tracks and reports the progress of clients towards the achievement of their goals as well as AHA’s goals for the Family Self Sufficiency Program.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize efficiently in an environment of multiple and shifting priorities.
Thorough knowledge of human needs, community services, and the ability to organize, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, local welfare agencies, law enforcement agencies, and the general public.
A thorough knowledge of advancing, and telecommunications that can assist the resident population in becoming self-sufficient through by leveraging technology and providing participants with information through access to technology.
Ability to work independently and fully execute assignment without intensive supervision.
Superior verbal and written communications skills.

Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in social services or a related field required.
At least seven (7) years of social services related experience to include four (4) years’ experience working with low income individuals and/or families that will address and remove barriers to self-sufficiency.
Four (4) years of experience managing social services programs required.
Experience conducting social services needs assessments and diagnostic required.
Large scale program management experience required.
Experience working with grant funded programs required.
Demonstrated proficiency of current office technology software applications and demonstrated use of such technology applications on a regular basis.

Working Conditions :
Works in an office environment. May require some bending, stooping, reaching and prolonged sitting. Must have and maintain a valid state of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Drivers List”.
