The Director of Investor Relations is responsible for creating, implementing and managing the corporate investor communication plan, in conjunction with the senior management team and an external investor relations firms. The Director of Investor Relations designs presentations for corporate officers, for conferences and investor meetings and acts as a first contact for the investment community at all levels. The Director of Investor Relations supports the organization’s investor and public relations objectives and is the key interface with investors.
Responsibilities in conjunction with the VP of IR include the following:
Develop and lead the implementation of a strategic communications plan that accurately positions the Company to its investors.
Plan and develop collateral materials for all aspects of investor related communications
Investor specific updates, conference call scripts, preparation for Q&A, overall review and controlled dissemination of press releases, creation and management of Press Kits.
Work with EVP Finance, Corporate Controller and the Legal Counsel to ensure the corporate sections in relevant filings properly describe the company and its business results.
Plan for and coordinate all investor interactions within a defined IR calendar include conferences, bus tours, investor 1x1s, IR events at conferences and other events.
Present the company as required to investors in any investor related events, conferences, 1x1 meetings.
Work with buy-side and sell-side analysts to ensure information about Pharmacyclics is correctly understood, ensure that relevant misunderstandings are clarified
Work with the CEO and EVP Finance to select bankers and to conduct fund-raising
Ensure that Pharmacyclics is fully compliant with disclosure-related regulations.
In conjunction with the CMO and other VPs, represent the company in various related industry organizations.
Create Pharmacyclics Annual Investor Communications plan and budget
Create, plan and manage the investor related sections of the Annual Report to Stockholders
Provide competitive intelligence information on competitor companies and the biotechnology space.
Other duties as required.
Requires Bachelors/Masters degree with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in investor relation with a public company or related functions with a fund or a bank. Experience in the biotech / pharmaceutical / healthcare industry is necessary, a PhD in such areas would be optimal. The position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience with primary responsibility for a variety of broad communications programs in the biotech industry.
